Requirements to Utilize Levgum's De-vulcanization Technology

To utilize Levgum's technology, licensees are required to install a number of Roller Mills. The size and the exact number of roller mills will be calculated from the capacity of the plant and number of working shifts.

The basic requirements from each roller mill are:

1. Roller Mill with smooth rollers.

2. The tangential velocity ratio between the two rollers should be at least 1:2 but can go as high as 1:3.

3. The Nip (distance between the rollers) should be 0.1 mm.

4. The tangential velocity of the fastest roller can go up to 0.7 m/sec. It is important to avoid skidding to maintain stress on the molecules.

5. The rollers can be equal or different in size.

6. Efficient heat evacuation and the cooling of the rollers is necessary.
