Levgum's De-Vulcanization TechnologyLevgum is spearheading global change in the rubber recycling industry through its patented breakthrough technology - the first high performance chemical modifier for the devulcanization of rubber waste, in an automated process in ambient temperature. This has resulted in reducing the cost of recycled rubber to less than half that of virgin rubber. Levgum's novel and innovative new process involves breaking down the sulfur links that connect the rubber polymer chains in vulcanized rubber. This enables waste rubber to be re-used, while retaining most of the properties and characteristics of the original rubber. Levgum's highly efficient devulcanization process is carried out by adding Levgum’s modifier (about 3% in weight) to vulcanized rubber that is brought into a stress condition in a two-roller mill for approximately 20 passes. The superior quality recycled rubber, which results from the Levgum process, can either be used exclusively, or mixed with virgin rubber. Compounds consisting of up to 70% of Levgum’s de-vulcanized rubber are being used on an industrial scale by leading producers all over the world with great success. Levgum's mechanical-chemical process is carried out at room temperature, does not use harmful chemicals, does not produce or emit any hazardous waste or gases, and is 100% environmentally safe. As a result of Levgum's revolutionary technology, for the first time high-quality recycled rubber can replace natural rubber at a significant cost savings, thereby ensuring a better and more lucrative future for the entire rubber industry. |
